Brands
A brand is a sending identity — the real mailbox your campaigns send from, along with the personalization details that go into every email it sends. Every campaign is assigned exactly one brand at creation, and that assignment can't be changed afterward, so it's worth setting a brand up properly before you build campaigns on top of it.
Creating a brand
Creating a brand walks you through four steps.
1. Tell us about your business
- Business Name (required) — used to personalize the emails this brand sends.
- Business Info (required) — a short description of what your business does, also used for personalization.
2. Branding & extras
Optional, but recommended for a polished sender identity:
- Email Signature — appended to every email sent from this brand.
- Logo — upload a PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, or SVG, up to 5MB.
- BCC Address (optional) — automatically blind-copied on every email this brand sends, useful for keeping a record in another inbox.
3. Rate limiting
Controls how fast this brand sends, to protect its sender reputation. Leave this on the default unless you specifically understand the deliverability trade-off:
- Automatic (Adaptive) (recommended) — safely scales your daily sending volume based on this mailbox's health, starting conservatively and increasing as your sending history builds up.
- Fixed Daily Limit — caps sending to a fixed number that never increases, regardless of mailbox health.
- Skip rate limiting — emails send immediately with no pacing gap at all. This bypasses the protection rate limiting is built for — only use it if you understand the risk to your sender reputation.
4. Connect your mailbox
-
Email Address (required) — the mailbox this brand will actually send from.
Deliverability best practiceUse a dedicated secondary email or domain for outbound outreach (e.g.
you@getcompany.com) rather than your primary address (you@company.com), to protect your main domain's sender reputation. -
Email Provider — choose Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Office 365, or Custom (to enter your own SMTP/IMAP settings directly).
For provider-specific setup steps — like generating an app password for Gmail — see Integrations.
Your credentials are verified live against a real SMTP and IMAP connection before the brand is saved — if either check fails, you'll see the specific error rather than a generic failure.
Things worth knowing
- A brand's assigned campaign can't change. Once a campaign is created with a brand, that link is permanent — if you need to switch, you'd create a new campaign under the correct brand instead.
- Deleting a brand deletes every campaign using it. This includes that campaign's emails, templates, and automations — not just the brand itself. Always double-check which campaigns are attached before deleting.
- Sending starts immediately after setup, using a conservative default pace. Aimly refines your safe sending volume automatically over time based on your mailbox's actual sending history.
