Campaigns
A campaign is a named outreach effort — it holds your enrolled leads, email templates, sending preferences, and automation sequence, all tied to one sending brand.
Creating a campaign
Creating a campaign walks you through a short setup wizard:
- Name your campaign.
- Brand — pick which sending identity it uses. This is permanent; a campaign's brand can't be changed after creation.
- Content guidelines — inherit your account's global messaging defaults, or set custom goal, tone, value proposition, CTA, and writing guidelines just for this campaign.
- Attachments — inherit global attachments, or opt out.
- Sending calendar — inherit your global sending schedule, or set a custom timezone and paused days for this campaign only.
The campaign dashboard
Opening a campaign takes you to its own performance dashboard, with a sidebar covering everything specific to that campaign:
- Overview — the campaign's stats page (see below).
- Enrolled — the leads currently enrolled in this campaign.
- History — past sent, scheduled, or completed activity.
- Drafts — emails generated but not yet sent.
- My Templates — this campaign's saved email templates.
- My Automation — the follow-up sequence for this campaign.
- Preferences — Guidelines, Attachments, and Sending Calendar specific to this campaign.
Reading the overview
- Sending activity — a chart of daily email volume sent via this campaign.
- Email distribution — a breakdown of this campaign's emails by status: Sent, Scheduled, Draft, Failed.
- Total Leads / Contacted / Read Rate — how many leads are enrolled, how many have actually been emailed, and what share of sent emails were opened.
- Engagement / Hard Bounced / Opt-Out Rate — percentages calculated against contacted leads, so they only start moving once you've actually sent something.
- Recent activity — a timeline of events for this campaign, like its creation, sends, and edits.
- Deliverability card — if this campaign's brand has been audited, you'll see its authentication, sender reputation, and inbox placement verdicts along with an overall score, plus how long ago the audit ran.
- Automation card — shows "Automation not set up" with a shortcut to build one if this campaign has no automation sequence yet, or a summary of its current sequence if it does.
A banner at the top will warn you if sending is currently paused for the day — for example, if today isn't one of the campaign's allowed sending days — and confirms that queued emails aren't lost, just held until the next allowed day.
Starting a campaign
The Start Campaign button begins actually sending — this is only meaningful once you've enrolled leads, written or generated content, and are ready to go live. Starting sends according to your campaign's rate limits and sending calendar, not all at once.
A few things worth knowing
- A running campaign is locked for structural changes — you can't edit its automation sequence or enroll new leads while it has active or paused sends in progress. Pause or complete those first.
- Templates are separate from preferences. Content guidelines (goal, tone, etc.) steer how emails are written; templates are the actual saved email copy used to generate them.
- Cloning an existing campaign is a fast way to create a variant — it copies the brand, preferences, templates, attachments, and automation structure, but starts fresh with no leads, history, or executions (unless you choose to bring leads along).
