Leads

Leads are the contacts you're reaching out to. Each lead has a person's name, the company they work for, and contact details — and can be enrolled into one or more campaigns, tagged with categories, and tracked for engagement.

Reading the overview cards

At the top of the Leads page, four cards summarize your account's leads at a glance:

  • Total leads — every lead across your account.
  • In a campaign — what percentage of your leads are enrolled in at least one campaign, versus sitting unenrolled.
  • In a category — what percentage have at least one category tag assigned.
  • Contacted — what percentage have actually been sent an email.

These are useful for spotting gaps — for example, a high "not yet enrolled" count means you've added leads but haven't put them to work in a campaign yet.

Browsing your leads

The leads list can be:

  • Searched by name, company, or email.
  • Sorted Alphabetically or by Campaigns.
  • Filtered by Shared Company, Categories, or Health Score.

Each lead row shows their name, company, email, any assigned category tags, and a score badge (this reflects lead health/engagement — it shows as "NaN" until there's enough activity to calculate one).

Row actions

From left to right, each lead has:

  • View (eye icon) — see full lead details and history.
  • Edit (pencil icon) — update name, company, email, phone, address, or notes.
  • Categorize (tag icon) — assign or remove category tags.
  • Export (download icon) — download this lead's data.
  • Send (paper plane icon) — take an action related to enrolling or emailing this lead.
  • Delete (trash icon) — remove the lead entirely. This also removes it from every campaign and category it belonged to — it's broader than just unenrolling from one campaign.

Adding leads

Click Add Lead to bring up three ways to add leads:

Manual

Add one lead at a time by filling in:

  • Lead Name (required) — the contact's own name.
  • Company / Organization (required) — the business they work for.
  • Email (required)
  • Phone, Address, Lead Info — optional.

If a lead genuinely has no employer (e.g. an independent contractor), use their own name again for Company / Organization — it's a required field either way.

CSV Upload

Drop or browse for a .csv file to add leads in bulk. The required format is:

name, company_name, email, phone_number, address, company_info Jane Doe, Acme Corp, contact@acme.com, +1555000, "123 Main St", "B2B SaaS"

Only name, company_name, and email are required — the rest are optional. Duplicate leads (matched against your existing list) are skipped automatically, so it's safe to re-upload a list that partially overlaps with leads you already have.

Finder

Finder searches the web to discover new leads matching a description you give it, rather than you supplying a list yourself. Before running a search, you'll be asked to confirm you understand a few things:

  • One or more configured web-search providers may be called, and each may consume its own credits or quota based on your plan with that provider.
  • Results aren't guaranteed to be complete, current, or verified — treat found emails and phone numbers as a starting point, not confirmed-accurate data.
  • Your Aimly plan's own lead-discovery limits apply on top of any provider limits.
  • If a provider runs out of quota mid-search, Finder automatically tries another configured provider; if none remain, the search stops there.
  • Finder prioritizes companies not already in your Aimly Email leads, which can mean extra processing time.

This tab also shows whether any past Finder search has leads that haven't been imported yet ("Everything is up to date" when there's nothing new).

For everything else about running searches, reviewing results, and importing found leads — see Finder.
